Acetates

An Acetate is salt formed by the combination of acetic acid with an alkaline or metallic base. The simplest of acetates is acetic acid with corresponding salts, esters and polyatomic anion. The esters are the dominant forms of acetates in the market. The acetate esters are often liquids. Many industrial solvents are acetates, including Ethyl Acetate, Methyl Acetate and Butyl Acetate.
